This is exactly what i was looking for.

My grandma loves jigsaw puzzles on the computer and I have been looking for one where you can use custom pictures so this is perfect for her.

The only issue i have is that she doesn't speak a word of english, I can tell her what she needs to know but it would be better if the language could be changed, is there a way to get access to the source so i could figure out how to edit the language (to french) myself or to do it in any other way ?

It is not a deal breaker at all so if it is too much efforts or you don't want to share the sources, i would understand.

Works on Ubuntu 22.04, been playing it for days now. After searching through and trying all of the jigsaw games I could find on Itch, this is my favorite. The highlight being able to make custom puzzles.

My only criticisms are: as someone who prefers to do the edges first, I would like it if I didn't have to empty the tray to get more pieces, and when changing the shape of the pieces, it isn't clear that a selection has been made (I click and nothing appears to change in the menu).

I was going to suggest you ship this, as it's effectively a finished game, but I see it's on Steam already. Don't give up on this, it's a good, high quality game.

Feature suggestion: group select to move more pieces around at once, and sorting trays (maybe use number keys to send pieces to a tray, like, while holding/hovering over a piece I press 1 and it goes to the first tray).

To be honest I shelved this project months ago. Recently, I've been thinking about going back to it and finishing it up. Your comment gave me the push I needed to actually open the project back up, so thank you for that :).

The multiselect feature you mention is actually implemented but I did not push it to itch, because it's not polished. I also added an option to spread pieces in a circle or a grid, but it's work in progress as well.

Some - like sorting trays - were in the game at one point but I scrapped them. I moved the whole puzzle to the 'board' and you can just sort it there. I will probably add some kind of sorting zones you can draw on board to have a visual separation.

As for the full release, I'm really happy to hear you think it's a "good, high quality game". I believe that for Steam release there is a long way ahead with fixing bugs and polishing things up. Also the interface is very meh and I'd like to redo it at some point.

For now I'm picking the project up and will continue to work on it. New builds can be expected to be published on a somewhat regular basis on itch.

Good to hear you've returned to development! I look forward to seeing how this progresses.

Worked in a Fedora virtual machine 👍.

Very good start. Quite fun. Took me a little while to realise I had to connect all available pieces for the rest of them to start showing up. Good stuff - well done. Would like to be able to make puzzles from my own images.

Thanks for the comment!

Recently I implemented this mode that you get x amount of pieces and more after finishing them and I found out it's more fun this way - sorting dozens/hundreds pieces on a computer screen is not very fun. You can build puzzle of any size this way.

I still need to add some kind of tutorial/explanation for this.

User added puzzles are the next big feature (and one of the last left todo).

Yeah it's a nice mechanic that (getting more pieces after completing each batch). Makes it more manageable.
